How To Grow Your Own Antibacterial Bandages

Wooly Lamb's Ear

Wooly Lamb’s Ear, botanical name Stachys byzantina, has been used for centuries as a wound dressing on battlefields. Not only do the soft, fuzzy leaves absorb blood and help it to clot more quickly, they also contain antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. All of these factors make this plant a really great alternative to store-bought bandages (especially since many of them are made in China!).

Other Medicinal Uses
Wooly Lamb’s Ear actually has many medicinal uses. You can heat a few bruised leaves in a pot of simmering water, and use the cooled infusion as an eyewash to treat pinkeye and sties.

Drink a tea made from young, dried Wooly Lamb’s Ear leaves to help with fevers, diarrhea, sore mouth and throat, internal bleeding, and weaknesses of the liver and heart. (~Wikipedia)

You can bruise the leaves so that the juices are released, and put them on bee stings or other insect bites to help reduce the swelling. The same effect can be seen when used for treating hemorrhoids, or for postpartum recovery. by Kendra Lynne; Source:The Prepper Project

Epsom salts have been used by many different cultures for hundreds of years. They have a number of different beneficial properties and are used in gardening, household cleaning, and detoxifying the body. These salts are very inexpensive and can be purchased at bulk discounts in garden centers nearly everywhere. Using Epsom salt baths is an advanced detoxification strategy that has remarkable health benefits.

Epsom salt is made up of magnesium and sulfate, which can help improve health in numerous ways. A lack of magnesium—which helps regulate the activity of more than 300 enzymes in the body—can contribute to high blood pressure, hyperactivity, heart problems and other health issues, doctors warn. Sulfate is essential for many biological processes, helping to flush toxins and helping form proteins in joints, brain tissue and mucin proteins.

How to Make Your Own Smoothie Freezer Kit Creations

This is a great idea. Normally I don’t care for storing food in plastic. However, if it is a choice between drinking smoothies or skipping them because you can’t plan ahead to have ingredients on hand…or take the time to put it together in the morning… Well, this is a great way to get organized to eat well.

The Budwig Anti-Cancer Regimen

“I have the answer to cancer, but American doctors won’t listen. They come here and observe my methods and are impressed. Then they want to make a special deal so they can take it home and make a lot of money. I won’t do it, so I’m blackballed in every country.” — Dr. Johanna Budwig

How Cooking Can Change Your Life – Michael Pollan

When you are McDonalds you like this red box with a bouquet of really long chips [french fries]. Looks really good. So they insist that all their potatoes be Russet-Burbanks and they further insist that they have no blemishes at all. There is a very common defect of Russet-Burbank potatoes called net necrosis. You’ve seen them with those little brown lines or spots that come through them. Well, McDonalds won’t buy them if your potatoes have that. The only way to eliminate that is to eliminate an aphid and the only way to do that is with a pesticide called Monitor that is so toxic that the famers that grow these potatoes in Idaho won’t venture outside to their fields for 5 days after they spray. Then when they harvest these potatoes they have to put them in these atmospheric controlled sheds the size of a football stadium because they are not edible for 6 weeks. They have to off-gas all the chemicals in them. So you see, the desire for a certain kind of chip leads to a certain kind of agriculture.
